The "Could not open socket" error occurs when your web server is not able to establish a connection with the Solve Media servers. There are several steps that can be taken to help resolve the issue:
- Ping verify.solvemedia.com from your server. Your server must be able to communicate with servers associated with that address.
- If pinging fails, check you server settings (firewalls, etc) make sure your connections to verify.solvemedia.com are not blocked.
- Check with your hosting service. Some web hosting services have policies that restrict outbound requests on port 80, which our PHP library currently requires. Your hosting server’s policy and restrictions are beyond our control. We will continue to explore implementation options but for now you have to resolve your hosting service.
- If the above fails, submit a trouble ticket.
